Who runs this study?

The Section on the Neurobiology of Fear and Anxiety is an Intramural Research Program within the National Institute of Mental Health at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. The team includes clinical researchers, medical investigators, psychologists, and research fellows.

What is this study about?

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we aim to better understand the impact of this stressful event on anxiety and motivation. We hope to learn about how such environmental stress is experienced by healthy volunteers and volunteers with anxiety disorders, the relationship between environmental stress and anxiety, and the association of stress and anxiety on motivation.

What kind of commitment is involved?

This study involves two remote, online sessions separated by approximately eight months. Each session includes 2 computer tasks and online questionnaires and will take about 1.5 hours to complete all study procedures.
